IDF Shoot at Land Day Demonstrators

Dear Gaza Freedom Marchers,
Israel continues to shoot at unarmed civilians nonviolently protesting the occupation, reserving especially brutal treatment for demonstrations where internationals and media are not strongly represented. This makes it no surprise that Israel did not want the Gaza Freedom Marchers in Gaza. News services are reporting at least 9-15 Palestinians were wounded in Land Day demonstrations near the Gaza/Israel border. According to a GFMer participanting in the demonstrations in Gaza, the IDF fired "warning shots" at the demonstrators -- not in the air, but very close to them.
This is the consequence of the suppression of the Goldstone Report. Since the US guarantees impunity for the IDF, they continue to shoot at unarmed civilians. We need to renew our efforts to stop the efforts to suppress the Goldstone Report:
Several UK parliamentarians have initiated efforts to investigate improper use of British military exports to Israel for attacks on civilians. Last week, the US, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Hungary, and the Ukraine were the only countries to vote against the UN Human Rights Council resolution to create a committee of experts to monitor the implementation of the Goldstone Report, and to hold a conference discussing the application of the Fourth Geneva Convention to Palestine.
The IDF shootings of peaceful protestors of the occupation can be directly linked to the US protective umbrella over Israel's actions. Boycott, divestment, sanctions are the citizens' tool to hold Israel accountable for its actions. Sign the Cairo Declaration http://www.cairodeclaration.org and help organize BDS actions where you are. Also, do not forget to support the Free Gaza Movement which will challenge Israel's Gaza blockade by sea at the end of April: http://www.freegaza.org.
Peace & Solidarity,
