GAZA FLOTILLA ATTACK: THE TRUTH
This shocking film has just been released by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) UK. Comprising footage smuggled from the Mavi Marmara, the main ship in the humanitarian flotilla destined for Gaza with supplies, provisions and other basic items denied to the people there, it shows the moment of Israel's brutal attack on the flotilla and its deadly aftermath. Survivors tell their chilling stories, as a picture builds of the true horror that took place on the night of 31 May 2010. This film strips away the banal caution of mainstream media reporting to lay bare the murderous brutality
of the Israeli state, reminding us of the everyday terror faced by the
occupied people of Palestine. Testimony is given in the film by, amongst others, Jamal El-Shayyal, Al Jazeera reporter and crew member of the Mavi Marmara.

JERUSALEM...THE EAST SIDE STORY
Released in 2007 by acclaimed director Mohammed Alatar, this 57-minute documentary explores the troubled history, contemporary circumstances, and conflicts of the ancient, contested city of Jerusalem. It is now complete with Thai sub-titles.
It is a highly relevant film still at a time when the evictions of indigenous Palestinians and the blatant and open takeover of their properties are accelerating. A discriminatory and rigid system of permits and plans to install a tourist park causing the demolition of yet more Palestinian homes are just two examples of the human rights abuses being perpetrated against the Palestinians and the attempts to permanently annex East Jerusalem by the occupying Israeli state.

MOHAMMED ALATAR, a filmmaker and longtime human rights activist, is a Palestinian born in Jordan who lives in America. In 2002 he was nominated for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Award for Humanity, for his work as a campaigner for human rights. Like his previous acclaimed documentary The Iron Wall, this is also a deeply political film which sticks remorselessly to facts, and in its conclusion rather than take sides, it notes that the ultimate loser in this conflict, apart from the Palestinian community, is the city of Jerusalem itself.
